long beach, california

i am typing this from a days inn hotel room in long beach california. driving feels crazy here, always faster than the speed limit and motorcycles seem to like to drive as fast as possible between cars. its better than the southern california i remember and we are applying for an apartment in a fun neighborhood that feels like west seattle minus all the bmws with funky vintage shops, tiny diners and liquor stores with old light up signage on every corner. 

joe says it reminds him of eilat, israel. it has some of the same colors. every house and apartment we drive buy he says he wants to live in, forever.

Saturday night late we are heading off to Long Beach, California to pursue our MFA's. Joe will be attending Claremont and Tina will be attending Cal State- Long Beach. We hope to find a place to live in Long Beach upon arrival and school starts the following week. Stay tuned here for bits and pieces of our new life in California...
